Overview
Your campus platform allows you to add custom Resource Links to any Learning Path, creating quick navigation to external tools, resources, or community spaces. This article teaches you how to guide your Campus Members in adding strategic links that enhance the learning experience.
Campus Map Context: This is a Phase 2-3 feature that enhances member experience by connecting Learning Paths to supporting resources, implementation tools, and community spaces.
Teaching Members to Add Resource Links
Resource Links appear in the top navigation bar within a Learning Path, giving members instant access to relevant tools and resources without leaving their learning environment.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Step 1: Navigate to the Learning Path
Guide members to:
- Go to the Learning Paths section from the campus navbar
- Open the Desired Learning Path by clicking the View Course button
Alternatively, they can create a new Learning Path by clicking New Course in the top right corner.
Teaching Tip for 45+ Audience: Direct them to read the Creating and Managing Learning Paths documentation first if they’re brand new to the platform.
Step 2: Access the Editor
Have members:
- Click the Edit Lessons button (top right corner)
- Click the Edit button (top left corner)
- Navigate to the Course Links tab in the top navbar
- Click the Add New Link button
Step 3: Configure the Link
A popup window will appear with customization options. Guide members through each field.
Link Configuration Options
Name of the Link
This is the text that appears in the navigation bar.
Field: Link Name text box
Include an Icon: Click the empty box beside the Link Name to add visual identification
Icon Options:
- Emoji – Simple and universally recognized (📚, 💡, 🎯)
- Shape – Clean geometric icons
- Custom SVG – For brand consistency
- Custom Image – Upload your own icon file
Teaching 45+ Course Creators:
Use descriptive names that clearly communicate purpose. Instead of "Resources," say "Download Workbook" or "Access Templates." Your audience doesn’t want to guess what clicking a link will do.
Strategic Naming Examples:
For $997 Cohorts:
- "Weekly Implementation Call" (links to Zoom room)
- "Private Member Forum" (links to discussion Space)
- "Submit Your Work" (links to Airtable form)
For High-Ticket Masterminds:
- "Book 1-on-1 Coaching" (links to booking calendar)
- "VIP Resource Vault" (links to Google Drive)
- "Member Directory" (links to Notion database)
URL
Enter the complete web address where members should be redirected when clicking the link.
Important: Always include the full URL starting with https://
Strategic Link Destinations:
External Tools:
- Zoom meeting rooms for live calls
- Google Docs for collaborative work
- Airtable/Notion for project tracking
- Calendar booking links for office hours
Campus Resources:
- Other Learning Paths (cross-promotion)
- Community discussion Spaces
- Member profile directories
- Resource libraries
Business Assets:
- Downloadable templates (Google Drive, Dropbox)
- Exclusive bonuses (hidden landing pages)
- Upsell opportunities (related offerings)
Teaching 45+ Audience:
Test every link before saving. Click it yourself to make sure it goes exactly where you intend. Nothing frustrates older learners more than broken links.
Enable this Link
Default: Checked (link is active and visible)
Strategic Use:
Uncheck this box to temporarily hide a link without deleting it. Useful when:
- Preparing resources that aren’t ready yet
- Running time-limited bonus access
- A/B testing different link configurations
Business Application:
In cohort-based programs, disable links to Week 2 resources until Week 1 is complete. This prevents overwhelm and creates structured progression.
Open this link in a new tab
Default: Checked (opens in new browser tab)
Recommendation: Keep this checked for all external links. Members should never lose their place in the Learning Path.
When to Uncheck:
Only if linking to another page within the same campus (like another Learning Path or Space). Internal navigation can happen in the same tab.
Visibility
Control exactly who can see each link. This is powerful for creating tiered access and exclusive experiences.
Three Visibility Options:
1. Everyone
The link is visible to all visitors, including people not logged in.
Use Case:
Links to public resources like YouTube playlists, free tool downloads, or general community guidelines.
Strategic Application:
Great for links on Public Learning Paths that serve as lead magnets.
2. Logged-in Users Only
Only campus members who are signed in can see the link.
Use Case:
Links to member-only resources that shouldn’t be discovered by search engines or casual browsers.
Strategic Application:
Standard choice for Private Learning Paths in paid cohorts.
3. By Space/Course Memberships
Only members of specific selected Spaces or Learning Paths can see the link.
Use Case:
VIP-only resources, tier-specific bonuses, or advanced implementation tools.
Strategic Application:
Perfect for upsells and cross-promotion. Example: Add a link visible only to "Foundations" cohort members that promotes the "Advanced Mastery" program.
Business Example: $997 Cohort with Upsell
Learning Path Setup:
- Main program is $997 (Private)
- VIP upgrade adds $500 (Secret bonus path)
Link Strategy:
- "Weekly Group Call" – Visible to everyone in main program
- "VIP Office Hours" – Visible only to members of VIP bonus path
- "Upgrade to VIP" – Visible to main program members who aren’t in VIP path
This creates FOMO (members see the VIP link) while protecting exclusive access.
Saving and Managing Links
Save the Configuration:
Once all fields are complete, click the Save button in the popup.
Final Save:
After adding all desired links, click Save Changes & Close to apply them to the Learning Path.
Edit or Delete Links:
Click the Edit/Delete button next to any existing link to modify or remove it.
Viewing the Result:
All added Resource Links will appear in the top navigation bar under the chosen Learning Path, accessible to members based on visibility settings.

Teaching Your Members About Resource Links
Create a "Start Here" Link:
The first link should always be a "Start Here" document that explains what each other link is for. Don’t assume members will figure it out.
Use Descriptive Icons:
Your 45+ audience responds well to visual cues. Use 📞 for calls, 📝 for forms, 📚 for resources, 💬 for discussions.
Limit the Number of Links:
More than 5-6 links creates overwhelm. If you have many resources, create one link to a "Resource Hub" page that organizes everything.
Strategic Business Applications
Phase 2 – Monetization:
Add links to payment pages for upsells directly within free Learning Paths. Members who love your teaching can upgrade without leaving the platform.
Phase 3 – Scalin:
Use visibility controls to create tiered experiences. Founding members see bonus links that new members don’t, creating higher perceived value.
Retention Strategy:
Link to weekly implementation calls. When members know there’s a live call scheduled, completion rates increase because they don’t want to fall behind the group.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
"My link doesn’t work"
- Verify the URL starts with
https:// - Test the link in a regular browser first
- Check that "Enable this Link" is checked
"Members can’t see the link"
- Verify visibility settings match member status
- Confirm members are logged in (if set to Logged-in Only)
- Check that members belong to the required Space/Course (if using membership visibility)
"Too many links look cluttered"
- Consolidate into a single "Resource Hub" link
- Use visibility controls to show different links to different member tiers
- Archive old links by disabling rather than deleting
Support Resources
If members need help configuring Resource Links, direct them to post questions in your campus support Space. Often, other facilitators have creative link strategies worth sharing.
