How to Create and Sell Claude Skills as Info Products

How to Create and Sell Claude Skills as Info Products

Content Production 🔧 Process Tutorial Mar 20, 2026

Why Traditional Info Products Are Dying

Ebooks, PDF checklists, Canva templates — the info products that educators used to sell are now things anyone can recreate with AI in minutes. The barrier to creating them has collapsed, which means the barrier to selling them has too. What people can’t recreate is your expertise packaged as an AI workflow.

What a Claude Skill Actually Is

A Claude Skill is a packaged set of instructions that tells Claude how to perform a specific task using your framework, your methodology, and your expertise. When someone installs your skill, they get your way of doing things — not a generic AI output. It’s the difference between a blank ChatGPT prompt and a trained employee who knows your process.

How to Identify What to Build

Start by listing the tasks you do regularly in your business. For a course creator, that might include topic validation, course architecture, content creation, platform setup, pricing strategy, marketing, and community retention. Each of those is a potential skill. Pick the one you do most often or the one your students struggle with most — that’s your first build.

Building the Skill

The process starts with defining your framework — the specific steps, decision points, and criteria you use. Then you create a skill file that instructs Claude to follow that framework. One example: a Profitable Topic Finder skill that takes a raw course idea and tests it for demand, competition, and profitable positioning before the creator invests time building. The result was a 19,000-word skill framework with methodology, examples, templates, and quick-start guides — all generated in about 30 minutes.

The Marketing System

Once the skill is built, you need marketing materials. In the same Claude session, you can generate 1-4 promotional emails, 3 onboarding emails for buyers, short and long product descriptions for your shopping cart, course lessons explaining how to use the skill, and 12+ social media posts. That took about 90 seconds to generate after the skill was complete.

Selling It From Your Campus

The skill downloads as a zip file. You add it as a product in your shopping cart (FluentCart, WooCommerce, or similar), add the marketing emails to your CRM, create a course with installation and usage lessons, and you have a sellable info product. The entire process — from identifying the skill to having it ready for sale with full marketing materials — took about an hour.
